Digital dentistry for growing smiles

See your child's smile take shape in 3D.

Eastover Pediatric Dentistry uses an iTero® intraoral digital imaging system to create a live 3D surface view of your child’s teeth and gums. The iTero® scanner does not take traditional x-rays, instead, it uses optical 3D scanning and near-infrared light to capture detailed images.

A closer look, made visual

Modern technology that children can actually see.

A digital scan turns something abstract into something visible. As the model appears on screen, families can see the shape and position of the teeth and follow the conversation more easily.

01

A live 3D surface view

The scan builds on screen as the wand moves around the teeth, giving families and the care team a detailed digital view of the smile.

02

No impression tray

For night guards and mouth guards, digital scanning replaces the annoying impression material and time that many children find uncomfortable.

03

Radiation-free scanning

The iTero scanner captures the surfaces of the teeth, assisting in cavity detection, but without ionizing radiation.

Designed around the experience

Less guesswork. A clearer visit.

Digital scanning can make it easier to explain what we see and why a next step may be recommended. For suitable procedures, it may also remove the need for a traditional impression tray.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A simple scan with a useful result.

Every child is different. We explain the process at their level, move at an appropriate pace, and use the scanner only when it supports their care.

A quick introduction

We show your child the scanner and explain what they will see on the screen.

The scan takes shape

A small handheld wand captures the visible surfaces of the teeth while the 3D model builds in real time.

A clearer conversation

The digital model helps Dr. Matt review the smile and explain the next step in a visual, parent-friendly way.

A 3D surface scan is not the same as an X-ray.

An important distinction

iTero scanning is radiation-free and shows the visible surfaces and shape of the teeth. It does not replace every diagnostic dental X-ray. Dr. Matt recommends imaging based on what is clinically appropriate for each child.
